Very impressive numbers

I run a 99 23'Classic with a 09. 250 yam 4 stroke.

I'm running a 17-M , 3 blade YAMAHA sw series 2 prop, stainless

I always run at 4500 rpms, 30 mph and get 2.2 mpg.

I'm typically running with 3 black angus cows ranging between 230-250lbs each and almost always run with 100-120 gallons of fuel. And have another 150-200 lbs of gear on the boat.

Do these stats sound right?

I never really searched or asked for comparisons until I read these posts.

This is an awesome group! Thanks to Al at Regulator Customer Service for telling me about this forum.

New numbers:

Still in break in mode but at 8 hours now.

Best fuel efficiency is at 3700-3800 RPMs burning 9.4-9.5 gph getting 28-29 mph for 2.9-3.0 mpg....NICE!

4300 RPMs is 2.6 mpg at 35 mph

Love this engine

I'm at 12 hrs on mine. Your numbers are right in the ballpark with mine.
I'd have more hours if this damn weather would cooperate.

I too am curious if anyone has numbers for the Enertia 17P. I checked with my dealer and he said that if you don't use an SDS Prop (SWS II SDS) the Shift Dampening won't work. Not sure how big a deal quitely shifting into gear really is but it seems to go hand in hand with fly by wire. The first time I used FBW on a friends boat while pulling the anchor I gave it way too much gas because I was waiting to hear the "clunk"

I'm sipping the coolade too. Just put a deposit down on one. My dealer is saying they put the SWS II 15p SDS on the 23' regs they have done and not the 17. I think I'll have to try both

I have the SWS 17p, and the boat runs great.
Would be interested in what kind of numbers he's getting with a 15.
5700 rpms and 46 mph with 1/2+ fuel and 2 big guys is good for me.
