Default installation advice for radar

installing a Raymarine RD4KW18HD.
purchased a 5 meter (part# A80227) data cable that directly connects to the Ray e97 plotter. That was shortest cable per Raymarine.

This is hardtop t-top.

Will do a pedestal mount with a 4 * tilt.
Still looking for which kind to get- scanstrut, seaview etc. Recommendations?

I have a search light, that i want to clear, so maybe 4-6" pedestal and seems like 4* is common tilt on regulators.

the plotter will live in the upper electronics box and there is a fuse block up there as well.

Any tips on the install?

Thanks in advance
Dualie

I mounted my 24" Garmin fantom straight to the hard top with zero problems. Even with the spotlight.

Nice. Appreciate the feed back. Plus the fantom radars let you cut/ shorten the cable and crimp a new RJ45. Garmin seems easier.
Older Raymarine doesnít offer that/ not recommended for my plotter. The new Quautums offer WiFi connections but donít have that.
And Iíll have all this extra length which stinks.

What is difficult to chase the cable through the top?

Anyone else with older Ray by chance?

Big Dan,
Thanks for the pic. Did you through bolt the pedestal?
Any tips on chasing the cable?

I will take some pics of the installation in a day or so. I did not do original install but I did install a new one a couple year ago.

No problem. Harder to remember to do it than to do it!
