I would call Al at regulator about the question of horsepower. I have a '94 23 regulator with twin ox66 150s. My engines currently run great but know I will need to repower in the next few years. Al did not recommend anything over 300 hp on mine (either single engine or twins).

I assume you are moving your batteries to center console as well.

Keep us updated as you go as Ill be right behind you in a few years.

I am moving batteries to console and cleaning up wiring. Also have a 30 gal auxiliary fuel tank in the bow. I donít think weight will be an issue. Motors are 489 lbs each. Shipping weight on crates. Old Johnson 2 strokes were 745 for the pair plus oil tanks. So not gaining but 200-250 lbs. Iíll post some pics as soon as I get her back.

As far as water in cockpit, I always had issues with water coming up through the scuppers with my 150 hpdi's so before the new motors went on I replaced the scuppers with gemlux duck bills and the deck drains I replaced with gemlux ball drains. The system works great, my deck is bone dry.
Same thing. Twin 200 Suzuki's on a 1999 23 Classic. Gemlux drainage system. Boat's a screamer.

Got the motors from Sportsman Marine in Fairhope. Hank worked with me a lot and ended up beating All pricing I got from other manufacturers. Wanted to stay with the Yamahaís if possible and they made it happen.

Boat is at Sportsman now getting motors installed, but unfortunately I wonít be back in town for a few more weeks to get it. Will post pics ASAP.

I the meantime I do have a pair of 1996 Johnsonís for sale. All rigging and controls included. $2500 for the pair. Need them gone. Both run well. Trim doesnít work on starboard.
