Default replacing original trim tabs on a 26

I have to replace the original bennett tabs on our 97 26 classic which are 12 x 16 would there be any benefit to going with a little larger tab like 14 x 18 . What about electric verse hydraulic tabs.

You might look at the new zipwake system, supposed to give better performance.

i went from the original 26fs factory tabs to lenco performance tabs... (angled running surface)...i like the mounting plate, as opposed to a smaller hinge. No complaints...they do exactly what they are supposed to do.

I am leaning towards the lenco extreme duty dual actuators in 19 x 14 , think thats overkill ? also like the mounting plate on these but will have to move the underwater lights. i looked into the zipwakes last year but cant find any one that has installed them on regulators .

I personally dont think that size is necessary. But i guess that will depend on how you are using the boat / loaded weight / etc.....so for me, that size is overkill

none that i recognize. However, the new tabs went on during a repower, from 3.3 to 4.2's, and there is a significant weight change with that swap. Additionally, i move motors up one hole from bottom, which is another factor.

so, even if i had a drag / consumption issue, which is nearly impossible to quantify, i am not sure i could assign the difference to the tabs with all of the other changes.

overall, i have no complaints about the tabs. The original factory tabs were bending up at the hinge which is what prompted the change. along with the fact that the factory tabs had the 90 degree bent lip, and that seemed to create heavy drag if the boat listed for any reason.
