Default 05 32 New to us Projects.

Well we made the move in selling our beloved 26 and moved up to some more room with the 32. Really hoping the added size and capacity will help us be more comfortable and push further than before. Being this boat is an 2005 it was not supposed to have the added torque of the 350s. The owner that put them on did quite a bit of fiberglass reinforcing and put an aluminum plate over the transom. After going to see the boat and taking a lot of pictures along with a sea trial, We made a deal contingent on Al giving the blessing on what he can see from the pictures and the quality of the transom. He gave it a go. So now she is home and there is a huge list of things that need to be done for next season.

Removal of 350s in place of new 300s

Every hatch needs to be removed, holes filled with epoxy and factory screws replaced. Along with a few gas shocks need to be replaced.

A bunch of starboard frames thru out the boat have the same with oversized screws that got replaced instead of factory size. A few frames need to be remade because of cracking as well.

Lumitec under gunnel lights, overhead T top, cockpit lights, led, white, red

Remove existing electronics and flush mount.
Install 16 spot switch panel
Move Am/Fm to upper electric box
2 new Icom 504/506 with ais
Rewire upper box, install new fuse block, 2 new vhf antennas, new lumitec anchor /nav light 30"

Remove old Yamaha guages and install new CLY 6 or 7 (not sure yet)
Remove the birds nest of wiring and replace correctly, new fuse block.
Remove simrad AP and install Garmin to match system.
New JL speakers and amp.

Replace cooler drain thru console.
Remove Rod holders re-seal and install. Along with 4 more

Tighten every screw
Reseal what is needed.
New captains chairs from LLebroc

I think that takes care of my shortlist of winter repairs.

If you have to replace the cooler seat drain fitting, do yourself a favor remove the head, and the storage compartment. Super easy access after.

Trying to go and work on it once a week, but that doesn't always work out. When the weather is crap I end up there too.

Nice boat and thanks for posting! I also have a 32. Your post reminded me that I need to order a few gas shocks as I forgot to put them on the list.

Are you adding speakers or replacing the ones up front? I also have the ones up front and I'm thinking of adding a couple of more but I am not sure where to put them so looking for ideas.

I'm also thinking of adding a 2nd fixed mount VHF as I have one with a handheld now and I also need to replace the under gunnel lights.

I just repowered in the fall with Yamaha F300s and the boat runs amazing with them!

The Gas shocks I still have not found yet. Been a bit busy with other projects, and have not found the best price for the few that I need.
I replaced all 6 speakers on the boat already and the amp. I did 4- 6.5 JLs in the bow and midship. Did two 7.5s on the stern bulkhead wall facing forward. The amp is 6/600 JL. I did mess with the amp a bit and it is super clear, just does not have much bass at all. I have not found a spot for a sub and not positive I am going to put one in just yet. Need to hear it out on the water first. Whatever you choose make sure the OHMs and impedance on the speakers match the amp.
I have two Icoms in the upper radio box. Put in an older 504 and a new 506.
The Lumitec rail 2 under gunnels are awesome. I did white/red/blue, 8 12", very bright and happy with them.
We hope to get our 300s by early spring, can't wait.
I can help you with any knowledge I might have to assist you as well.
Dave

Looks great. Iíll be following along. I have an Ď03 32 and am also redoing the dash, putting all new electronics and a new panel in. Did you use starboard to flush mount?
