Winter 2020/2021 projects - what’s on your list?

Purchased my 2003 26FS from freestyle0930 this fall and have a big list for the winter!
-Repower with Yamaha 4.2l engines. I have a standard rotation 300 and a counter 250 that came in on trade at my dealer on separate occasions. I am going to have the ECM's flashed with the Nizpro 330hp program so they are both the same.
-Add a house battery and reconfigure the battery switches to accommodate.
-Install a Rhodan, batteries, and charging system.
-Media blast the bottom, barrier coat, and repaint.
-Media blast the bracket while the engines are off, barrier coat, and Awlgrip.
-Possibly upgrade the rubrail to the white with stainless insert if time allows.
-Finally, wax, wax, and wax again!

I always wanted to do that motor bracket..... always pissed me off getting on the boat looking at it!

What Battery and Charging Combo are you going with ( i went with Stealth 1 AC/DC and a Ionics 36v 50AH)

My buddy who details professionally always told me, 2 coats of wax and call it a day, anymore your wasting your time.

Twin 330 on a 26 is going to SCOOOOOT right along. my buddy at 300s and it broke 70MPH pinned and low on fuel...

I haven't decided yet. My Rhodan is still 3-4 weeks away and realistically not going to be used until April. Not sure if I can justify the cost of the lithium battery. Plus my boat is in a slip 30 minutes from home so I'm somewhat leery about having a lithium on charge while I'm not around after the cell phones catching fire a few years ago. On the other hand, a single battery would be much easier to find a place for vs three lead acids.

70! Geez I would be happy with 60 WOT so I can cruise around 40.

For 2021 swapping out my two Simrad NSS 12 Evo2 for two Simrad NSS Evo3s. Also adding a combo 12v DC female/2 USB charge ports to the console face. For 2020 added Optimus 360 steering system and swapped 4G radar for Halo 24.

DEFINITES:

1- Paint boot stripe (has taken a bit of beating over the years)
2- Replace the rub rail and insert (staying with the original black)
3- Replace both bilge pumps and switches
4- Replace all live well pumps
5- Glass in the scupper tubes (this has been making me nervous)
6- Re-do the windshield curtain and the 2 side wings
7- Remove the head in the console
8- new 3 sided enclosure


POSSIBILITIES:

1- New switch panel
2- New electronics
3- Update bolster seating


Re-powered back in the Spring of 2020 with a set of 200 Suzukis. Currently spinning a set of 4 blade 15 1/4 x 22 props mounted at the lowest setting

Boat ran great this past summer, just feel like i can get a little more out of her

May try a set of three blades when she goes back in or raise the engine a hole or two and stick with the 4 blades

may shoot Ken at Prop Gods an email and see what he recommends

Had some switches go this season so went to rewire the panel and it snowballed into a rewire the entire boat and reconfigure the console. That and a B175HW then we will be ready for the season
