Default Finalizing my layout

I'm in the process of repowering my 2002 26FS with 250 Suzukis and installing new electronics. Going from the 4 yamaha gauges to 2 zukes opens up some space. I think I finally have figured out my layout provided everything fits during a mock up. Please excuse the crappy MS paint rendition using pics I found on google. I'm out of town so I am going off of net pics, downloaded mounting template dimensions, and the dash measurements I have with me. Here is what I'm thinking:
  • NSS16 Evo2 in the recessed box angled up for better viewing
  • NSS7 Evo2 flush mount in the top right dash
  • Fusion AV-750 color head unit middle right dash (below NSS7)
  • Suzuki color C-10 gauges on the flat area centered under the NSS16
  • RS-35 VHF in the top box networked with AIS
  • Ipad with Navionics in the top box as backup

Everything will be networked including the Suzukis to the Simrads. On the network will be 4G Radar, medium frequency chirp, structurescan, and NAC-2 autopilot. The only thing I haven't bought yet is the NSS7 as I have been trying to decide on it versus an AP44 or just 2 IS35 nmea data gauges.

With putting the Zuke C-10s on the flat space I can mount the Fusion in the dash rather than up top and fit the NSS7. I don't think the C-10s will fit under the NSS7. The NSS7 can be the primary controller for the autopilot. NSS7 can also supplement the C-10s with engine/fuel data or use for radar/plotter/FF as desired. By adding the NSS7 I should also be able to view chirp and structurescan at the same time, which the NSS16 won't do by itself. NSS7 reman is only $100 more than an AP44 dedicated autopilot controller so it just seems way more versatile while still retaining the AP knob and stby button functionality on either of the NSS MFDs. I'll probably end up buying the WR10 bluetooth AP remote too.

Oh... and don't forget the 2 cup holders flanking the Suzuki gauges to set the silver bullets in while admiring the setup.

Comments or opinions on the layout???

Default Install Complete!

Just finished getting everything installed in the console/dash. Im very happy with how it turned out, everything is networked so there is a ton of versatility. Only thing up top is my VHF. Still need to clean up that ratty switch panel!

i am in the process of redoing my dash on my new to me 2000 23 reg. i have decided to recess & tilt an inset panel for a Garmin 5215 and future autopilot computer. i want to keep some of the original looks and hope that someone has the black or white trim that goes around the electronics box area. if you do and want to get rid of it, please let me know.

also any good spots to get some black acrylic ?
