Default Sea Star Power Assist Steering Problem

My Power Assist pump started grinding yesterday. It looks like these units are over $1500 and was wondering if anyone has ever rebuilt one. Also, has anyone ever tried running a 26' Reg with twin 250s without the power assist. I was thinking of just pulling the fuse for now with only about a month left to our NE season. Any help would be appreciated.

I had 250 HPDI's with no power steering. Not a problem. I do not have it with the 300 Zukes either but they installed dual rams.

I have a 26 with twin F250's, no power steering, one ram, it is fine, have never felt like I needed power steering.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to pull the fuse to get through the rest of the season and pull the head off the pump to see if it might be the plastic coupler. It is reassuring to know it isn't a big deal without the pump!

My power steering fuse blew on me one day and the steering was incredibly hard to turn.
