Dtaylor, did you use those Lee's or Smith rod holders? I'm wanting to do the same thing to my 26. What degrees did you use in the forward gunnels? Any issues with the far forward ones interfering with the seat cushions?

They are all Lee's. Pretty sure the 2 closest to the center console are 30 degree an the 4 that are forward are 15 degree. They are centered in the gunwale and there is no issue with the forward seating.

Just curious as to why two 30 degrees and the rest 15? Looking to do the same.

Default Rod holder degrees

I think it depends on what type of fishing you are doing.

For kite fishing, in my opinion, you want 15 degree(or 90/0). So, the rod and reel are closer to you for the constant adjustments that are needed in kite fishing.

It also depends on whether you have a bow rail or not. And, how high the bow rail is. Our previous was a 26 Classic and the bow rail prevented me from installing 30 degree rod holder. Had to go with 15 degree, as I positioned them to face 90 degrees to the direction of the keel. 30 degree would have the rod at or just above the bow rail.
