Default 23' vs 26' Bahamas trip

I am trying to decide between buying 23' or 26' reg classic.

I live in south florida, planning to cross and fish bahamas on a semi-regular basis. In your experience, what are the maximum capacities to safely/comfortably fit on 23 vs 26ft classic?

Appreciate the advice,
Jesse

You'll have a difficult time getting the 23 insured for a Bahamas crossing. The minimum requirements seem to be 26ft and twin engines. If you poke around on The Hull Truth you can find some more info on carriers and requirements for a Bahamas rider.

Cross as in go to the Bahamas for a few days or day trip?

What capacities are you asking about?

@mod45, that's good to know, i didn't think about insurance reqs

@gary999, capacity regarding number of people to safely take. and more for three day weekend trips, so we'd have more luggage/etc.

The 23 is a great "Inshore" boat, can you go there sure, can you go there on most occasions without issue yes. Comfort wise there is a huge difference I would go the 26 or larger.

Having owned both, there is no day that the 26 is going cross you cant cross in a 23.

Of course you can take more crap with you in 26,
