Default Paint or wrap?

Guys - I have a dark blue 2005 26fs - the gel coat is starting to fade a bit from the sun - I am thinking about painting the boat - any idea how much that would cost? Has anyone wrapped a boat instead of painting? Curious to hear your thoughts - thanks

X2. Have you tried to restore the hull? Wetsanding followed by 3m heavy duty and then two passes with FinesseIt? Lastly two coats of Collonite fleetwax? Hull will shine like new. My 23 was Flag Blue and she cleaned up great.

I have done all that and she is finally is going to need the paint. I got to the point of doing that and it lasted a few years then , I had to compound it to get it back. Now we are compounding with all the waxing and only getting the color to last a month. I am just tired of spending so much time for minimal year results.

As for the wrap or paint. From my research is the wrap doesn't last as long as you think it should. I am in the understanding the wrap material is getting better but is still expected to last 3-6 years depending. For the price it is roughly half of what it would cost to get a marina to paint the boat. With all that said painting is going to be our solution. I believe we are going to try and tackle this ourself.

Painted our 2005 23 FS last year with Awlgrip in ‘Aqua Mist’. New boot stripe, stickers; looks like a brand new boat. You will be be very happy!

Price for sided only was around $3500; had motor painted for $1200. Feels like a new boat for under 5K!

I rolled and tipped with interlux perfection this spring. Flag blue top sides. New boot stripes, new decals. I logged all my work on this forum.
To alwgrip in MA was $5500-7500 for a 23. Flag blue.
I did it for $700 materials and several weekends outside.
