Default Open radar on 26 FS?

Anyone successfully add an open array radar to a 26?

Have the hard top with outriggers...

Yes. I can try to take some pics or look for some. Then you can see pedestal mount and cover underneath with wiring on t-top

See if these work from ipad. This is a Northstar and if I recall correctly - maybe not - it's actually 46" wide and when I upgrade electronics I will have to move the antennae out on each side.

My Garmin is a 4 ft. had to move it forward and put a support plate under the t-top so it would clear the antennas. No cracks or issues - it has been on for 2 summers and survived offshore fishing in not so ideal conditions.

Thanks. I am thinking I will have to move it forward, too. I have the fixed outriggers.

I had read somewhere on another forum that the open array radars were an issue for 26 Regs, but clearly you all have made it work.

Did you go with 4kw or 6kw? What chart plotter? I have all northstar on the regulator but have a Garmin 1040 on another boat and may go with Garmin when I refit the regulator.

The radar is 6KW. The plotter is a GARMIN 7616xsv w/ airman B-275 chirp transducer, pilot is GARMIN GHP 20 w/ smart pump.

I like the Garmin - simple to use. It was between that or simrad. If I had to do it over again I would consider making the entire console flush and putting (2) 7612 screens.

Split screen on the 7616 is nice - even running three screens is not bad but like everything it is a compromise.

I'm between Garmin and simrad too and haven't decided. I'm considering 2 1040 if they will fit so I have commonality to other boat. Glad you like to Garmin I'm leaning that way.
