Default 28 reg running in a beam wake

Bought a 28 Reg back in March and I am running it in the Pax river and in the Bay. I've found going in and out of Solomon's there can be a lot of traffic. Many times I find that I am running in an beam wake and the boat heels due to my deadrise. The heel only lasts no longer than 10 to 15 seconds but there are times when the boat heels pretty hard and steers in the direction of the wake. Zig zagging is not always an option due to boat traffic and sail boats. Should I slow down? What's a good way to handle this?

When it happens - just slow down and take it off of auto pilot if it is on.
