What engines are you running?

On my 2006, with the 3.3L 250s I am running 20, with the engines raised one hole from stock. These give me exactly the same rpm/speed/fuel burn as the stock 21 Yamaha props, with much better stern lift, so my planning speed dropped by about 4 mph, porpoising if I trim the motors up is a lot less. Top end rpm is between 5900 and 6000 depending on load.

If you have repowered with the new 4.2L 250s I believe the lower unit gear ratio changed, so this pitch would not work.

I run relatively light, if you load the boat heavy with ice and guys, then you may need to drop to the 19

I have an 02 with F225 raised up one hole from the bottom, Rev 4 19 pitch is a real good match.

Default 4 Bladed Prop 26 FS

I did the same, raised the F225’s 1 hole on the motor mounts & added 19” 4 blades from Ken @ PropGods. WELL WORTH it !! Big difference in the boat....

so i moved engines up one hole and added Rev 4 19 pitch. the ride so far has been terrific. not as stern heavy, better hole shot, less tab work, better handling around the docks, no purpoising, but less top end by 2-3mph. i have not had a "normal" offshore trip yet to review fuel, but early reads is that is should be much better too. Hope to get off shore in the next week and will review economy.

so far, its been worth the change and happy with results.
