Default Suzuki 350 on 23 Regulator

Has anyone done this or know of anyone who has? I'm considering repowering my 2005 23FS. I currently have twin F150s and am looking for a little more power. I'm looking at either a single Suzuki 350 or twin 200s. It seems like several people are happy with the Suzuki 300 on their 23s, but I've yet to see any feedback from someone who's hung a Suzuki 350. Any info would be appreciated. thanks

I spoke with Al Partin at Regulator when I was repowering. He told me they tested the 23 with the Yamaha 350 and they found it too squirely (sp?) at higher speeds. He told me the 300 was the best option for a single.

I heard the same from Al, but the Yamaha 350 is a V8 and some have said excessive torque affected the performance. The Suzuki 350 is a V6 and Iím told that should help. Iím really hoping someone tests out that theory in the near term. Thx

I just ordered a 300 Zuke. I was on the fence with a 350 as its only ~4K more.

But for me the weight was the largest factor:
300: X 639, XX 659
350: X 727, XX 747
That a large jump from V6 to V8 and from an OX66 that will be another 200Lbs on the transom. (granted batteries moved forward and oil tank gone will help)

In addition, i am always fearful of a "new" design until it gets the "bugs" out. the 350 is ~2 years old now.

Don't know too much about this also, but the 350 has a duel prop vs single prop of the 300.

When I spoke with him, we were specifically talking about the Suzuki 350 FWIW

I appreciate the feedback. I think Iím leaning towards twins again. That being said, Iím hoping someone else tries the Suzuki 350 on this hull and posts some real world performance
