Default Regulator 23FS speaker set up

New to me 2007 23 FS. Working on my sound system. Iím dropping in a Fusion head unit and JL M 7.7s forward but didnít know if I should fill the CC speaker holes and try and mount some aft under the gunnels (and what would fit). Or use the current holes in the CC to add the additional speakers. Iím going for a clean look and would rather have as much hidden as possible.

Anyone have thoughts on this? And what amp are you using to power the speakers?

Thanks in advance.

Crisp

Whether or not you will need an amp will depend on the power output of your head unit and the power requirements of each speaker. Does the head unit have enough power to drive the speakers?

The new head unit is a Fusion MS-RA70i (50Wx4ch max, 4 Ω). The new speakers forward are JL M Series 7.7" (100 W, 4 Ω). I will end up with an amp for the speakers in due time.

The real question is:

I currently have some Alpine Marine 6.5's in the CC sides, but I'm looking to remove them and either replace with 2 more JL M 7.7" or glass the holes and add 2 speakers under the gunnel aft. Does anyone have speakers under their gunnel (if yes, what fit?)? Should I leave the holes and replace the speakers on the CC sides?
