Default New to me 24FS

Just brought home my first Regulator.
Being and OG SeaCraft ( pre Potter) fan and owner- Have had two of the Moesely race Hulls, I have to say I was impressed on my sea trial. It took all of 5 minutes or less to decide, we went out of Lantana it was snotty, but the Regs handled it very well.

I was a multiple SeaCraft owner prior to my 24 Regulator when I was thinking about getting the reg I went for a ride on a friends 23. Like you it took just a few minutes to see the difference, the boat breaks through the chop and ZERO spray, ultra dry boats.

The SeaCrafts were amazing boats when they were designed but they are 30-40 year old designs allot has happened since then.

I'd be curious to know what type of numbers you get out of the E-Tech's, I have 200 Opti's on mine I'm pretty sure they are mounted too low as with any load I only get a max of about 1.8 Naut's/ gal, last fall on fumes with just me I got 2.00 on a flat day.

Congrats on your boat. I have owned a 2011 24FS for two years. Shes a big small boat and a small big boat. I originally wanted a 26, but found a nice 24. Its worked out to be a great boat for the Keys shallow water and ocean chop. One thing I did that helped with the chop is put 3/4 spacers on the trim tabs. Made a lot of difference getting the bow down in a short chop with 2-3 people in the stern. Overall I love the boat. Good luck.

Default great boat

I looked at that boat back in february...almost pulled the trigger. Ended finding an 04 with 150 very low hour fourstrokes locally on cape cod and couldnt be happier with it. Hear all sorts if bashing on the 24 but its all nonsense. Its a little tank of a boat, moves well and in my opinion rides better than the classic 23, plus has all the creature comforts(fwd seating, head, transom well).....i owned a 23 for 10 years late 90s to early 2000's...great boat but spartan compared to the 24... very nice on the 24 having all the rear of electronics, batts very accessible under the stand up console....and all this talk of no space behind the leaning post due to the euro transom...garbage! I use the top of the eurotransom as an elevated casting platform, along with the forward seating....win win.....enjoy the 24....the best little big boat going!
