Default Dash Ideas / Assist

Looking to install new electronics and thinking starboard or similar flush mount (do away with the factory cover). I would love to see pics of any transformations you all may have completed. In addition, would like to hear suggestions on why I should or shouldn't flush mount. Appreciate any input.

Default Dash Assist

Hi - Im having a console E-Box custom build with a larger tilt angle to view the displays better. I should have it sometime next week and will post some pictures. Basically the same as the box in my new to me 2000 26FS but in arctic white starboard with an arctic white door (hinged but removable).

We went the way of flush mounting electronics on our 23. Very happy with the look and function of the flush mount.

For a short period of time , I used a piece of starboard to "flush mount" , but wasn't satisfied with the non production appearance.

Did you move from Starboard to white acrylic?

Is the dash, i.e. the panel for flushmounting angled forward enough to get a good view of the display (angle)? On my 26FS the dash is not angled much and I tought flush mounting the display would make it harder to view.

Im having my e-box build in such a way that the back mounting panel is angled forward a bit, we'll see how it turns out.

I don't think mine is stock, but it has two thick pieces of starboard screwed to black acrylic with some reverse angle on it. I replaced the acrylic for the new electronics this past week. I think the 23 and 26 boxes are the same size.

This is how it looks flush mounted. In my experiences it doesn't need to be tilted up for full view and easy viewing
