Default weight on reg 26 factory hardtop

I was reading in the 26 owner's manual that max weight for roof top items is 25lbs.

My question is, what about the weight of a human being (adult male) to get up on the hardtop to work on Raydome, anchor light, etc.

Can the factory hardtop support a 200lbs person? I look forward to hearing from anyone in the know. thx

There's no problem with getting on the hardtop to do work and I'm in the same weight class. I have a 23' classic and have been up there many times for detailing and just recently putting a new radar dome on. I believe the weight limit was put there to keep owners from adding a second station on the hardtop.

I have been up there plenty of times to compound and wax the top. No problems

I have a 29fs. I go up on my hard top all the time with no problem. It is very sturdy.

The limit was placed there so detailers would have an excuse to not do the top. Happened to me twice.

I go up there all the time to detail and also to spot from time to time. I took off the frame last year to powder coat it and mid season I had two welds break (crossbar) I attribute this to the stress in the oven and other factors but I am now a bit hesitant to get up there unless absolutely necessary. I had no issues 5 years previous to doing it so I would not be overly worried just wanted to toss in my $0.02

I've been on my 23 a bunch of times to compound/wax as well as to install radar.
