Default T top to console question

Anyone know if there is supposed to be any type of plastic or rubber material between Ttop and console mounting areas? When I bought my boat it was loose so I tightened the bolts which were extremely difficult, almost like they were bottomed out. Was just thinking maybe there were plastic pieces that were supposed to be there that broke and fell out. Any thoughts appreciated, my boat is a 1999 26fs.

Are there backing plates in inside of the console? You may have to remove the front cover inside the console to get at all of them.

I havenít checked those yet but it was the upper ones that were loose. They mount to upper side of console.

On my 26 the upper mounting points where the pipe work attaches to the console have a single bolt that passes through the interior of the console and threads into the TTop. These have occasionally loosened up on me in the past. That left a surprising gap between the console and the TTop. I simply crank them down with a ratchet and all is good. I donít know if the console or the TTop flexes to close up the gap but I never saw an issue after tightening.
