Default Cape Cod Opening Weekend 2017

Did the annual trip up to the Cape this past weekend with the 609 crew. Fished Saturday and Sunday in relatively sloppy conditions east of the Cape. Saturday started very slow until we found some fish all by ourselves in tight to the beach around 10 AM and got a couple good shots at them. Landed a 60" fish, pulled the hook on two more and lost one to a broken mainline. 1/4 not the best ratio but that's what makes light tackle topwater tuna fishing what it is.

Sunday yielded not as much life and we just couldn't find the fish on top again. Got word of a bite further south but with the conditions we didn't want to run all the way down and have to slog our way back north again.

Always a great time up on the Cape and very cool to see the commercial fleet at work on Sunday when the season reopened.
