![]() 2nd trip on 2013 26’ “S & Sea” found some warm water on Hilton’s sea surface temp north of “Same ol”. Left out@ 330 and broke antenna mount about 25 miles out and had to zip tie to top in order to keep from cutting cable. Stopped 5 miles from spot and high speed trolled rest of way. Had one cut off a $50 yozuri Bonita. Switched up to ballyhoo and immediately hooked up. Outriggers were supposed to be on last week but somehow they got lost in transit and company had to reorder. Brought 2 rod riggers that I had for old boat. Had one peeling line on flatline and hear a slam and look back and one of my tyrnos 30 had been snatched out boat bc lanyard was rusted thru. Boated a 39lb hoo and immediately returned to spot of hook up. Hooked up again this time on shotgun line that was pulling squid daisy chain with bird. Boated 37lb hoo. 2 fish in boat by 7:15am. Seas tougher than expected. Supposed to be 2-4’ 10-15 instead 4-6’ 15-20mph. Lost 1 hoo after falling off wave running with seas and got slack in line and pulled hook. Had another swipe at deep diver just didn’t get hooked. Picked up 1 king on shotgun and headed to hill by 11:00. Glad to hear reports of good yellowfin bite but we’re 15-20 miles south. Boat handled good in rough seas and stayed around 1.24 mpg on a 156 mile trip. Broke 2nd antenna mount on way home. Thank god for zip ties. Expensive trip but glad made it home safely and with meat in box. Chili lime grilled wahoo is excellent.
